2016 Field Work on Bioresource & Bioenvironment 2 (1 credit) †

Course objective †

To provide the students with opportunities to learn bioresource and bioenvironment through the field works on forestry and forest sciences at the university forest.

Tentative Schedule †

• April 5
  • 10:00 Course introduction (Hakozaki Campus, room 2-213)
  • 10:30-12:00 Lecture (Basics in forest environments & Introduction to Japanese Forest,Forest management)
  • 12:00-13:00 Lunch
  • 13:00-13:30 Lecture (Introduction to conservation forest, room 2-213)
  • 13:30-17:00 Visit Sawara Research forest

• April 6
  • 8:50 Meet at the main entrance of the Agriculture 1st building and go to Kasuya Research Forest
  • 9:30-10:30 Introduction of Kasuya Research Forest
  • 10:30-12:30 Ochozu experimental watershed
  • 12:30-13:30 Lunch in the field
  • 14:00-17:00 Planting trees
  • 17:00-18:00 Dinner
  • 18:30-19:30 Preparing for student presentation

• April 7
  • 9:00-12:00 Visit Sasaguri-Kyudai Forest
  • 12:00-13:00 Lunch
  • 13:00-14:00 Preparing for student presentation
  • 14:00-15:00 Student presentation
  • 15:00-16:00 Clean up
  • 16:00 Leave for Hakozaki campus

Transportation service †

• April 5: Meet at Hakozaki campus
• April 6: Picking up 8:50 at the main entrance of the Agriculture 1st building
• April 7: Dropping off around 17:00 on Apri7 at the main entrance of the Agriculture 1st building

Wear †

Please prepare proper clothes and shoes for hiking and work in forest in all weather. For example

• Rain gear (top&bottom)
• long-sleeved shirts and pants
• fleece or sweater to keep you warm
• hat
• boots for hiking
• cotton work gloves
• towel
• backpack

Fee †

2,870Yen (including meal:1 breakfast,2 lunches, 1 diners, accommodation fee) Please pay it by cash when you arrive at Kasuya Research Forest.
