2016 Field Work on Bioresource & Bioenvironment 2 (1 credit) †
Date and Place †
- April 5 (Tue.) - April 7(Thu.):3 days (You will be staying over one night at the Kasuya research forest)
Course objective †
To provide the students with opportunities to learn bioresource and bioenvironment through the field works on forestry and forest sciences at the university forest.
Tentative Schedule †
- April 5
- 10:00 Course introduction (Hakozaki Campus, room 2-213)
- 10:30-12:00 Lecture (Basics in forest environments & Introduction to Japanese Forest,Forest management)
- 12:00-13:00 Lunch
- 13:00-13:30 Lecture (Introduction to conservation forest, room 2-213)
- 13:30-17:00 Visit Sawara Research forest
- April 6
- 8:50 Meet at the main entrance of the Agriculture 1st building and go to Kasuya Research Forest
- 9:30-10:30 Introduction of Kasuya Research Forest
- 10:30-12:30 Ochozu experimental watershed
- 12:30-13:30 Lunch in the field
- 14:00-17:00 Planting trees
- 17:00-18:00 Dinner
- 18:30-19:30 Preparing for student presentation
- April 7
- 9:00-12:00 Visit Sasaguri-Kyudai Forest
- 12:00-13:00 Lunch
- 13:00-14:00 Preparing for student presentation
- 14:00-15:00 Student presentation
- 15:00-16:00 Clean up
- 16:00 Leave for Hakozaki campus
Transportation service †
- April 5: Meet at Hakozaki campus
- April 6: Picking up 8:50 at the main entrance of the Agriculture 1st building
- April 7: Dropping off around 17:00 on Apri7 at the main entrance of the Agriculture 1st building
Wear †
Please prepare proper clothes and shoes for hiking and work in forest in all weather. For example
- Rain gear (top&bottom)
- long-sleeved shirts and pants
- fleece or sweater to keep you warm
- hat
- boots for hiking
- cotton work gloves
- towel
- backpack
Facilities †
- Kasuya Research Forest Dormitory
Fee †
2,870Yen (including meal:1 breakfast,2 lunches, 1 diners, accommodation fee)
Please pay it by cash when you arrive at Kasuya Research Forest.
Food †
