2021 Field Work on Bioresource & Bioenvironment 2

Date and Place

  • April 1 (Wed.), April 3(Fri.), April 6(Mon):3 days

Course objective

To provide the students with opportunities to learn bioresource and bioenvironment through the field works on forestry and forest sciences at the university forest.

Tentative Schedule

  • April 1
    • 8:50 Get on the bus at the east parking lot of the Agriculture 1st building and go to Kasuya Research Forest
    • Introduction of the Kasuya Research Forest and the course
    • Dendrology
    • Visit Sugi and Hinoki plantation
    • 17:00 Leave for the Ito Campus
  • April 3
    • 9:00 Get on the bus at the east parking lot of the Agriculture 1st building and go to Sawara Experimental Field
    • Visit a coastal pine forest
    • 11:30 Leave for the Ito Campus
  • April 6
    • 8:50 Get on the bus at the east parking lot of the Agriculture 1st building and go to the Kasuya Research Forest
    • Function of Forests: water source area
    • Expansion of the bamboo forest
    • 17:00 Leave for the Ito Campus

Note

  • You will hike and work in the forest each day, so please wear appropriate cloths and shoes. Long sleeve shirts and pants are must.
  • Bring work gloves.
  • Prepare for wet weather too. If it is light rain, we will go to the field.
  • Please bring lunch on April 1st and 6th. There is no shops or restaurant nearby the Kasuya Research Forest.
