• April 5 (Tue.) - April 7(Thu.):3 days (You will be staying over one night at the Kasuya research forest)

Course objective†

To provide the students with opportunities to learn bioresource and bioenvironment through the field works on forestry and forest sciences at the university forest.

Tentative Schedule†

• April 5
  • 9:00 Course introduction (Hakozaki Campus)
  • 9:30-10:30 Lecture (Basics in forest environments & Introduction to Japanese Forest)
  • 10:45-12:00 Lecture (Forest management)
  • 12:00-13:00 Lunch
  • 13:00-13:30 Lecture (Introduction to conservation forest)
  • 13:30-17:00 Visit Sawara Research forest

• April 6
  • 8:50 Meet at the main entrance of the Agriculture 1st building and go to Kasuya Research Forest
  • 9:30-12:00 Introduction of Ochozu experimental watershed
  • 12:00-13:00 Lunch
  • 13:00-16:00 Planting trees
  • 16:00-17:00 Lecture (Forest of the world)
  • 17:00-18:00 Dinner
  • 18:30-19:30 Preparing for student presentation

• April 7
  • 9:00-12:00 Visit Sasaguri-Kyudai Forest
  • 12:00-13:00 Lunch
  • 13:00-14:00 Preparing for student presentation
  • 14:00-15:00 Student presentation
  • 15:00-16:00 Clean up
  • 16:00 Leave for Hakozaki campus

Transportation service†

• April 5: Meet at Hakozaki campus
• April 6: Picking up 8:50 at the main entrance of the Agriculture 1st building
• April 7: Dropping off around 17:00 on Apri7 at the main entrance of the Agriculture 1st building

Wear†

Please prepare proper clothes and shoes for hiking and work in forest in all weather. For example

• Rain gear (top&bottom)
• long-sleeved shirts and pants
• fleece or sweater to keep you warm
• hat
• boots for hiking
• cotton work gloves
• towel
• backpack

Fee†

2,870Yen (including meal:1 breakfast,2 lunches, 1 diners, accommodation fee) Please pay it by cash when you arrive at Kasuya Research Forest.
